Sarcocestos Septabrachus
Description: Sleek hunters of the void Septabrachi possess a seven limbed radial body, three limbs are tipped with sensory organs. The center underside possesses an orifice leading to a chambered dead-end stomach cavity. The first few chambers are used as a sort of 'airlock' leading to a crop filled with hardened plated used to crush and 'pop' prey which is them passed into the final stomach cavity for absorption. Remains and waste is them expelled via the same orifice. The dull and mottled coloring allow Septabrachi to hide and even approach some prey while blending into the matching background before grappling their target and engulfing them alive.
Habitat: Most Septabrachi dwell on the craggy exterior of asteroids and debris in the void.
Reproduction: Possessing modestly pronounced sexual dimorphism the males are often smaller than the females of the species. This aids in the daring courtship ritual where-in the males enter the mouth of the female trusting her not to crush them as they are sealed inside to reach her ova-ducts within her internal cavity. Should she tire of him or be particularly hungry females are not above cannibalizing their partners.
